Reliance Jio excogitates to sell 5G Smartphones for less than Rs.5, 000, says report
According to Reliance Jio Company’s official, the organization is planning to introduce a 5G smartphone for less than Rs.5000 and moderately turn down the price to Rs.2, 500-3000 apiece when it scales up the functioning. The Jio Infocomm association will, however, aims to target 20-30 crore mobile customers who use the 2G connection at this moment in time.
At the moment, the 5G smartphones are available in India in the price range starting from Rs.27, 000.
Moreover, the Reliance Jio was the first company that launched and introduced 4G mobile phones in India free to the customers where they were required to pay a refundable deposit of Rs.1, 500 for a Jio mobile phone. The organization said on the condition of anonymity that, it wants to bring the gadgets for less than Rs.5, 000 and when we maximize the sales, it can be estimated in the scale of Rs.2500-3000.
Reliance Industries Chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani had proclaimed at the 43rd Annual General Meeting, to make India “2G-mukt” (free of 2G connections) and strengthen on the need to accelerate the migration of 350 million Indians (currently using 2G feature phone) to an affordable and budget-friendly smartphone, at a time when India stands at the doorsteps of the 5G era.
Reports says Mukesh Ambani had also declared Rs.33, 737 crore expenditure by Google for a 7.7 percent stake in Jio Platforms, and had also said the Jio will partner with the US tech Giant to manufacture an android-based smartphones operating system.
Besides, the company is operating on its own 5G network appurtenances and has asked the Department of Telecom to distribute its spectrum for testing before exporting these developments.
Currently, India doesn’t have 5G services and the government has not even distributed spectrum to telecom working for running field trails targets at promoting domiciliary ecosystem for the next generation mechanization.
