Looking for Tiktok Alternative? | Facebook Will Soon Have an Facebook to Offer

Facebook is preparing a new application for making music videos on the lines of TikTok. This announcement was made by Facebook’s New Product Experimentation team last week.

With the Indo China tensions escalating to new levels along the LAC, almost all Indians have been actively looking for Chinese App alternatives. Currently, TikTok is the leading application in video sharing and music video making. The application is owned by the Chinese Tech company ByteDance and has over 2 billion downloads on Apple App Store and Google Play Store. As of June 2019, there were 190 million monthly users of TikTok in India. This user number may decrease with the increasing Indo China border tensions and the availability of other better alternatives.

Facebook is preparing a new application for making music videos on the lines of TikTok. This announcement was made by Facebook’s New Product Experimentation team last week. The application will be called Collab and is currently available only as an invite-only Beta version. The application will soon be available on the iOS platform and later maybe put up Google Play Store. The application will allow collaborating 3 videos which can be synchronized. On the other hand, TikTok allows for syncing 2 videos at a time.  The videos can be the user’s own videos or can be explored by the users on the app. After this, the video is posted on the Collab Feed and can be later shared directly on Facebook. Moreover, the app will allow the uploaded videos to be edited by users and remixed as per their own needs.

Superstars such as Gary Barlow, Chris Martin, and the Backstreet boys have already prepared collaborative video using the application. A company spokesperson as stated to The Verge, “Digital spaces can connect us when we can’t be together in person, and Collab is a new way to create together”.  The words make much sense in these times of isolation and remote working.
