Amazon.com Inc. which is considered to be one of the Big Five companies in the United States Information technology industry said on Thursday declaration that it will pay out more than 500 million dollars on one-time bonuses or gratuity for its front-line workforce in the United States (U.S) who are working during the holiday or in vacation season due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
The largest Internet company by revenue and the world’s most valuable businesses ‘Amazon’ stated that it would pay full-time operations employees $300 and part-time workforce 150 dollars if they were employed by the e-commerce giant throughout the month of December.
In a statement, Amazon’s Worldwide Operations senior vice president, Dave Clark said that the money would go to the full-time and part-time staff or workers who are employed by the company between the 1st and 31st of December.
Last year, the world’s largest online marketplace recorded a net income of 2.1 billion dollars, and the e-commerce, as well as technology giant, accomplishes a net income of 6.3 billion dollars in the three months to 30th September.
